Captain Terry Ingalls grew up on the water. His father raised him and his brother while operating various businesses (water taxis, towboats, charter boats and a fleet of private pleasure craft). After completing his shipwright’s apprenticeship Terry operated TC Boats on Vancouver Island where he honed his skills and understanding of shipboard systems and repair in wood, steel and fiberglass.
You may remember meeting him at the various trade and outdoor shows of that era as he tried his hand at anything marine including yacht broker with Pacific Windjammer Yachts, construction and sales rep for the Jubilee 36 and various fishing resorts.
His towing experience soon lead to his rebuilding a 117’ North Sea Trawler into a tow and support vessel for the fishing lodges exploding on this coast at that time. This was seasonal so left him time to try his hand at land development, fish farming and of course the ever present fishing charters with many different vessels.
Terry has logged in excess of 150,000 on-watch hours as captain/engineer on more than 30 different boats.
Over the years Terry has helped many adventurers with time constraints by moving their boats up-coast, providing refueling and reprovisioning services and when their holiday is over, returning the boat to its home berth. This business has developed as a response to encouragement he has received from these happy customers. Terry’s natural consideration for others and his deep understanding of the meaning of respect, responsibility and discretion is what makes it easy to trust him with your most prized possession.
As Terry’s whole life has been about and on the water, he has experienced this coast from many vantage points and is uniquely qualified to help you find and enjoy your next up coast playground.
Terry and all of the staff at Ingalls Marine bring with them many years of experience and of course Transport Canada Certifications that ensure your experience with us is thoroughly enjoyable.
